Individual Programs

Offered for students 2-14 years old

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a system of autism treatment based on behaviorist theories which, simply put, state that behaviors can be taught through a system of rewards and consequences.
Applied – principles applied to socially significant behavior
Behavioral – based on scientific principles of behavior
Analysis – progress is measured and interventions modified

ABA begins with intensive skill training based on a reward system (sometimes called “discrete trials”). More advanced ABA includes practice of skills in a natural setting. ABA for very young children is play-based and more developmental in treatment.

P.E.O.P.L.E. Academy – Applied Behavioral Analysis Day Clinic

Our program is designed for young scholars with developmental delays who struggle with basic concept acquisition supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) using ABA, or applied behavioral analytic principles. During small group and 1 to 1 discreet trails we address foundational learning skills that are shaped each session to include: receptive and expressive identification of colors, shapes, numbers, letters, animals, and daily living objects, rote counting, one-to-one correspondence, classroom readiness skills, pre-reading skills, pre-writing skills, and functional communication.

This program is data and student driven and incorporates different program methods found in the field of ABA, such as Verbal Behavior, Natural Environment Training, social skills training, Direct Trial Teaching and video modeling. During the program, we have a time set aside for reading, art, social time, music and movement therapies, gross and fine motor activities, academic skills and compliance training.

Our goal is to foster a learning environment where independence is developed by providing positive reinforcement and errorless learning techniques within a small group and one to one ABA setting. The programming we use is research based and carried out by individuals trained in applied behavior analysis that have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. We use positive reinforcement and prompting to enhance growth academically, emotionally and behaviorally.
